True Motivation as a byproduct of Faith

The idea to write this article was one of the first thoughts that came into my mind this morning. I tried to wave it, but it kept on popping into my mind and I have decided to start writing it.

This article will be about faith and how real motivation is a derived product from it.

A lot of people think faith and motivation are the same thing, but in truth, they are not, even though people might do things that look similar in the name of either of these two words.

Faith by definition means complete trust or confidence in someone or something. However, I will present faith more in the light of the spiritual definition of what it means based on scripture and that is: faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Motivation on the other hand just means a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way.

Both faith and motivation play lots of roles in our lives on a daily basis. Even people who do not have faith are still motivated by something. However in this article, I want to argue that the best kind of motivation comes as a result of faith.

Remember that faith is the substance or evidence of things not seen... the trust that comes from this gives you reasons to act(motivation).

Everyone can be motivated, but the question is what motivates us? If our reasons for acting is based only on what we see, hear or interact with physically, then we become limited. We become limited in the sense that our environment begins to control us or give us reasons to act.

That means we will only be motivated to do something because we can observe it with our senses or people we were pushed to do it by events that every other person can see.

However, faith brings a different kind of motivation because it cares less about what you can observe or what your environment is telling you. It operates from new, from the real of the unseen things. And then because you have complete trust by virtue of faith, you will be driven to take actions on something that may look stupid or impossible to others.

I dare say that majority of the greatest breakthroughs in technology were products of this kind of motivation derived from faith. There was complete trust that something which had never been done before would be possible.

This is the faith that drives things that have never been seen before inti existence. How do we develop faith. Well faith comes by hearing and listening to God's word. I have come to see that your faith builds up as you study the Bible, meditate and pray on the insights that enter your soul.
