From Novice to Machine Learning Engineer in 2 years

Image
Hi guys,  Hope you are all staying safe and winning? This post will be quite short as it links to an article I published two days ago. I felt to share it on the blog incase anyone is curious about gaining new skills in the Information Technology (IT) space. One of the best ways to keep yourself relevant and motivated is to build your skills. The world is rapidly changing and new skills are needed to keep oneself ready for the future. I started my journey in building skills on machine learning about 2 years ago and have shared my experience here via this link: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/from-novice-machine-learning-engineer-2-years-ikechukwu-nigel-ogbuchi/ I want you to read and let me know what you think about it. If you also want me to write more articles about technology on the blog, just let me know via messaging. I hope you find the article enriching. God bless you and keep you winning! Why You Feel The Emptiness

Image
Dear Winners, I'm getting a lot inspired these days to write. And the idea to write on this topic came into my head two days ago while I was watching a documentary about Kid Cudi.  He in an American rapper best known for his different style in hip hop music. His music which were often about his childhood struggles related to mental health connected with a lot of people. He sorta created this space where artists began to really express their thoughts and emotions rather than the usual style of promoting gangsterism, flaunting their wealth through music and all. This earned him a lot of fans globally. He won two Grammy awards and has sold about 22 million records globally, he was successful by all standards. But in 2016, in a Facebook post he opened up about how he really felt. This was where he openly expressed to the world about how his anxiety and depression has ruled his life for as long as he could remember. You can read his post here. He got a lot of support, chec

Things You Must Avoid if You Do Not Want to Be Miserable

Image
Hello bold winners, This video from YouTube was shared by a friend online and the video really has a sarcastic way of making you really sit up. I felt it was a video worth sharing here. The only comments I have to make on it are just two:  1) Being suspicious can be a good thing in certain circumstances, but it doesn't have to make you unwilling to give people a chance to prove themselves or give you reasons to trust them. 2) Seeing yourself as special I think is a good thing for your self esteem as long as you understand that others are special in their own way too and it doesn't make you too full of yourself to look down on others. But asides from these two arguments which I have about 2 points mentioned in the video, I completely agree with every other thing mentioned. I will also add that trying to build a relationship with God, the creator who knows you better than you know yourself will make positively transforming your life based on the points of this video a

Why I Choose to Be Realistically Optimistic

Image
Since my teenage years, I've always been particular about being inspired and motivated. I've always been inclined to reading books, watching movies, listening to songs that push me towards doing something great. Doing these things made me believe in myself and become very optimistic about my future. I always expected the very best and always put in my best in the situations I found myself. This mental disposition really helped me pull through a lot of rough times in my life. In general I adopted a more optimistic view about my life and even when things appeared to be going south, this view kept me focused, happy and motivated against all odds.  At a point I was getting quite addicted to the resources and once thought of becoming a motivational speaker. But what I quickly found out was that no one was willing to listen to a motivational speaker who hadn't accomplished something hooge (that's a funny way to say HUGE 😂) with his life.. so that thought was quickly replac

The Golden Key To Living a Successful Life: See your value!

Image
God is good! Believe this! See the value in yourself as human. The value God has already put in you! Don't see the doubts and limitations in your heart which the devil may have put in you through bad childhood experiences or general life experience from people you trusted! Focus on seeing the value that God deposited in you from the beginning! Then you will always be free to be at your best. The biggest trick of the enemy through your own mind is to make you keep on remembering past experiences in the past that make you feel like you're worthless. The more you keep playing the tape in your mind, the more you fail to see the value that God gave to you for FREE!  The strategy behind the trick is to make you forget that you have value of any sort by making you focus on the bad stuff.  You should rather be focusing on the good stuff.. which God has given to you freely and which is independent of anything of your own effort. The value is there! Just believe it and focus on it and yo

On Pride

Image
Pride is one of the greatest drawbacks in the life of humans. It comes top on the list of the 7 deadly sins. It's so subtle and dangerous that it is often confused with self respect, love for self and even admiration for oneself. Pride makes you feel as though you are better than someone else by virtue of the things you have or what you have achieved. And that in itself subconsciously creates a need to expect better privileges than others because you feel you are more "special" than other people. Even the best of people often fall to this. There are ones who claim to be too spiritual to relate to other people. That too is often an unnoticeable form of pride. You know you have pride when you see other people as lesser than you are and that puts you in a position where you are very likely to become insensitive to them. Pride too can keep one from moving higher in life.. because God resists the proud and exalts the humble. Now there is something that must be pointed out. B

Faith is the Ultimate Form of Motivation

Image
Hello winners, It's second of July in the second half of the year and I am really excited that you and I have made it thus far hale and hearty! Of recent, I have come to see the magic of faith and how for me, it's the biggest source of motivation.  To begin with, let us all define what faith means and this will be the basis of the entire post. A quick Google search on "faith definition" gives the first definition of faith as "complete trust or confidence in someone or something." Merriam Webster dictionary has a slightly different variation of that definition and defines faith as: "firm belief in something for which there is no proof." The Cambridge English dictionary defines faith as: "great trust or confidence in something or someone." Since there is no clear cut way to measure faith using any physical scale, the first two definitions reflect the definition of faith used in this article. With that established, why is it the ultimate f

Powerful Insights in May

Image
I experienced a period of clearer vision in May 2021. I had reluctantly joined Immerse Inner Circle, a coaching program designed for men to help them become more purpose driven. I actually did not see the need, but something told me to go ahead and join.  I have been blown away ever since and much more inspired to even do much more than I am doing in my life. The key takeaways so far have been the following: 1. Resource Mobilization: This refers to your ability to find the resources you need to bring your vision to reality, knowing how to find it, who you partner with and who you need to get on your team. Seeing the vision does not always mean you will have to be the one to execute it!  As a visionary, you must master the art of building relationships with people and leverage that relationship to push your vision forward. Resource mobilization is what separates people who are successful from people who are extraordinarily successful. Building your support system is not God's job, i

Know This About Expectations And Feeling Entitled

Image
I was inspired to write this blog post by a series of tweets from a friend @tukobos and these are the tweets:  “I've learned something in life: If a person has a victim complex, you can NEVER talk that person out of that victim mentality. Only that person can. If a person has a saviour complex, you can NEVER talk that person out of that saviour mentality. Only that person can.” “This is why I don't throw in my two cents with such discussions anymore. Because nothing I say will have an effect. But then, I beg of thee reading this: YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM YOU ALSO ARE NOT A SAVIOUR” “This is to women and this is to men, of all shapes, forms, colour, race, ethnicity, identity, tribe. Go out everyday knowing that the life you want is only the life you can get for yourself. No handouts. No one is entitled to help you.” “Go out everyday knowing that the life you want others to have is only the life they can get for themselves. Handouts must not come from you. You're not entitled to

Why Wanting To Be Liked By Everyone Is Nonsense

Image
Hello Bold Winners! Pleased to share with you once again an interesting blog post that will stimulate your intellect. Today, I was inspired to write about "wanting to be liked by everyone". This is an important topic because I think that at some point or the other everyone of us is confronted with facing this ideology. Now, it's one thing to be liked by a lot of people and it's another thing to be liked by everyone. The former is possible, but the latter is something that currently looks impossible to accomplish which is why I'm of the opinion that one must not bother about it. A lot of people are worried about whether everyone likes them or not or what people think about them. While sometimes it's good to pay attention to what people think of you (as a guide to personal growth), it's useless to worry about everyone liking you. First of all, it's impossible to know if everyone likes you or not. To do this, you will have to ask everyone in the world w

Stay Focused!

Image
I saw this video clip online and decided to share it here. I think it paints a picture of what we all need to get much closer to our goals. For me the lesson is to stay focused and keep making steps towards your goal no matter how little. Progress is progress and it all adds up. If you are naturally fast, be fast and steady! Don't speed and the spend excess time relaxing and waiting. You must keep moving. Life not does wait for anybody and those times when you decide to rest a little longer than you should or waste time a little more might be crucial to you eventually achieving your dreams. It is also critical that you do not waste time staring at different things rather than your mission. We live in a world where different things crave our time, focus and attention. We must train ourselves to master the art of focusing on the things we want.  I'll end with this quote from the noble Martin Luther King jnr who was instrumental in the fight for equality and freedom among races. I

Waiting for The Right Time Could Be Bullshit

Image
There are a lot of people who claim to be waiting for the right time to take certain decisions. Maybe they want to start a business, further their education, get married, quit their jobs, have children contest for a political position and etcetera. There are many things they want to do, but they keep putting it off in the name of waiting for the right time. Now, even while I understand that sometimes we have to wait for the most opportune moment to do certain stuff, I feel that this waiting in most cases is as a result of fear and a lack of preparation. Many people fear the unknown and things that are not even real. And this fear is what keeps them from making progress in their lives. Waiting for the right time could be an excuse for us to keep lazing about and wasting our time. You ask a few people about why they haven’t attempted to do what their spirit tells them to do and they simply tell you that they are waiting for the right time or even God’s time. Most times you find o

Look Beyond The Self

Image
Look Beyond the Self! You hear a lot of people these days say it’s a selfish world out there. But if you look deeper at the same people who say, you’ll find out that many of them are also selfish. Selfishness is a very common thing to see in our daily lives and well it’s not necessarily such a bad thing as it is often painted. There are times when a human may need to be selfish, if you had only one vaccine and you had to choose to save your own life, your partner’s life, the life of our loving parent or the life of a total stranger, who would you save? The answer to this question regardless of your choice only highlights that there are situations that kicks in our selfish side. Even with this realization, I do not believe we should be selfish all the time which has prompted me to write something on the subject “Look beyond the self”. You see while there are times when it makes sense to be selfish, there are also more times when we need to think beyond ourselves. And those times h

Thoughts on Giving and Taking

Image
Hello Bold Winner, Welcome to the new month of February. I hope you are doing great, keeping safe and not allowing a lot of things distract your focused mind? This is the first article of the month and I hope you enjoy the read. Cheers and never stop winning big in every sphere of your life! In today’s world, it’s not uncommon for people to give you something without expecting something from you in return either in Cash or in kind. Many people give today expecting some favors from the people they have given to. This is not to say that there aren’t people who give without expectation, but from my experience, I think people like this are fewer in number than the ones who give with strings attached. It's best to give without expectations though because it frees you and others from unnecessary expectations, but it is not usually the case with a lot of us. Based on this, it would be safer to assume that expectations are behind things you are given than not. Which brings us to the

The Subtle Art of Dealing with Grief

Image
Dealing with Grief An esteemed subscriber to this blog reached out to me a few days ago to find out if I could write something about Grief. I responded that I would definitely write on the topic since it is a subject that has affected each and every one of us in one way or the other. Contrary to what many people believe, grief isn’t just about losing a loved one to the cold hands of death. Grief could come from losing something else you previously had and cherish so much. For some, it could come from a broken relationship, loss of a job or even losing contact with close friends. MedicineNet , defines Grief as “The normal process of reacting to a loss. The loss may be physical (such as a death), social (such as divorce), or occupational (such as a job). Emotional reactions of  grief  can include anger, guilt,  anxiety , sadness, and despair. Physical reactions of grief can include  sleeping problems , changes in appetite, physical problems, or illness.” Since we are on the sam
