A September to Remember

Image
September, the 9th month of the year. It takes 9 months for a pregnant woman to deliver a baby. September will deliver a truckload of amazing stuff for you. Look, I don't know your challenges or what may be bothering your mind.. but there is something I am convinced of.. and I learnt this from my personal experiences.. Here it is: When you've tried everything you can, when everything has failed, maybe you've tried family, friends, connections, everything you thought help could come from and they all fail.. Remember that there is one supreme source that never fails.. the source where this earth comes from, the source that created us and gave us a mind and a body to experience this existence. That source is God. Everything else may sometimes fail us for a very good reason: for us to realize that nothing is really permanent. The only permanence in this world is that which has been existing from the beginning, never changes and will exist forever which is God the giver of lif

Review of Solve For Happy by Mo Gawdat

Image
Should have written this months ago after I completed this book, but I guess I have been too busy with with practicing the golden lessons taken away from it. I recommend you read this book if you can as this book somehow appears to be a culmination of all the most inspiring books I have read on motivation, self awareness and consciousness. Mo Gawdat proposes a theory that "Happiness is greater than or equal to the perception of the events of your life minus your expectations of how life should be." If you look at it carefully and in mathematical sense, you will see that our perception is really what determines happiness the most as it has to either match our expectation or be greater than it for our happiness to have a reasonable score. Looking at it in another sense, it appears that we need to work on our expectations too. It does not mean we should encourage ourselves to have very low expectations or have no expectations at all.. but we need to watch our expectations and co

Do You Love Yourself?

Image
I got back from mass today and the gospel of today kept ringing in my head. It was culled from Luke 10 and the v 27 was the particular one that kept repeating itself in my head; "...love your neighbor as you love yourself.."  I wondered, why did Jesus add "..as you love yourself" rather than just answer the scholar who questioned him with only "Love your neighbour."? Two thoughts came to mind, but one of them stood out so strongly. One of the ideas in my mind was you have to love yourself first, so that you can even know how to love your neighbour. And the second was that you have to love your neighbour the way you love yourself (this is assuming you love yourself o).  The second idea was dependent on the first because you cannot love others "the way you love yourself" if the way you love yourself does not even exist in the first place, so I will focus on the first idea here which is that you have to love yourself first. What does this even mea

Know Your History

Image
History is so important to pay attention to. The history of your own life, your parents, the life of people in generations and communities before you and general world history of where you come from. Ignorance of your history is a disaster because there are people who will never forget their own history and will use your ignorance of your history against you. I used to be of the school of thought that looking at history wasn't so important because it takes us back into the past into things that do not concern us, but growing up as an adult I know better and have come to see how our pasts continually shape our future whether you are ignorant of it or not. Therefore, it is of key importance for each and everyone of us to begin asking key questions about our history, so we can better know ourselves and why we are even here in the first place. Begin by asking key questions from people you know. We are too carried away by the quest for money and enjoyment that we have become oblivious

Must You Figure It Out?

Image
As humans, there's a tendency to want to figure it out all the time. We want to know exactly how things will turn out and this is what leads to worry sometimes What we must always remember is that sometimes when we've done what we can as humans, we need to let go of the idea of how exactly things will work out. When you've done all you can, trust that all will work out perfectly and relax. There's no point in making sure you figure it out in your head. Most times you see that a lot of things that have worked out for you, you never knew exactly how it would have happened. It just did as you were exploring your options. Therefore, why do you keep worrying when you have done your best? The reason for doing your best is not so that you'll be guaranteed of exactly how things will work. Doing your best should be a habit so you can take your mind from worrying or figuring it all out. You cannot figure everything out .. some things, you must rest easy and allow it to happe

True Motivation as a byproduct of Faith

Image
The idea to write this article was one of the first thoughts that came into my mind this morning. I tried to wave it, but it kept on popping into my mind and I have decided to start writing it. This article will be about faith and how real motivation is a derived product from it.  A lot of people think faith and motivation are the same thing, but in truth, they are not, even though people might do things that look similar in the name of either of these two words. Faith by definition means complete trust or confidence in someone or something. However, I will present faith more in the light of the spiritual definition of what it means based on scripture and that is: faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Motivation on the other hand just means a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way. Both faith and motivation play lots of roles in our lives on a daily basis. Even people who do not have faith are still motivated by something. Ho

Mindset Shift For The Year Into Abundance

Image
Happy New Year Bold Winners! It's our best year yet! Earlier this month, I found a YouTube video by a content creator 'Crypto Casey' which contains valuable insights on the right kind of mindset to have for success and I felt the messageshe passed was too important for me not to share my insights on it. There are two kinds of mindsets she mentioned, the poverty and the abundance mindset. She spent some time describing them as summarized below. Although her advise focused on money, I think it applies other areas of our lives, like networking and relationships. The Poverty mindset is based on "fear" , people with this mindset fear they don't have enough money, will never have enough money and they are in constant fear of their current and future situations. These people are not necessarily poor. Rich and poor people alike can have this mindset at different times, it's more about how these people perceive their reality or interpret it, not really about the re
