5 Ways To Start A New Year

1. Thanksgiving
It is very important to thank God; the giver of life for the gift of life and for every good thing that He sent your way in the outgoing year. Appreciation opens the door for more to come through.
Be grateful for the good things that came your way the previous year and hope for better ones in the new year.

2. Review Your Year
If you don't know the cause of a problem you can't solve it adequately. There is a great need to do a proper year review; highlighting where you missed it and analysing your actions and reactions.
A lot of people don't take this seriously. You don't jump into the new year without taking an introspective look into your life the previous year. Remember, two steps forward, one step back.

3. Learn From The Past But Don't Live In It
After reviewing the year, you will gain the understanding on how and where your actions were futile. You will know with certainty the things and people in your life that are not adding any positivity to your being. You have to get rid of them, otherwise you will remain in a cycle of repeating mistakes.
If you want to progress, don't live in the past or else it will stop you from experiencing the new things that come with new year.

4. Plan For The New Year
Planning goes beyond writing down your intentions and visions on a sheet of paper. Planning starts with and ends in prayer. Isaiah 48:17" I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go" Planning will amount to little or nothing without direction. You need to approach the throne of Grace that God may give you divine direction.

5. Set Goals
What do you intend to achieve in the coming year? Break your plan down into goals backed up with actionable steps. Your goals should including the following;

* Kingdom Goals: This is where you set goals of what you will do for God in the coming year. It shouldn't always be what God will do for you. Remember the Bible says that the harvest is large but laborers are few. You can actually join the team of God's laborers and have a place in God's payroll.

* Personal Development Goals: This is where you set goals on how to improve yourself. You can take professional courses, learn new skills, read new books, etc These help to ensure that you don't go through the year with lots of new shoes and new bags but with the same old self year in year out.

In Conclusion, endeavor above all things to carry your goals back to God in prayer, also dedicating the year to Him and backing all your plans/goals with ACTIONS.

Wishing you a HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR..
