What Are Your Emotions Telling You?

What are your emotions telling you?

Damn… January flew by in a flash! I hope you made the most of it. Before the month slips away completely, I’m sticking to my goal of writing four articles per month; one each week. So here’s the last one for January, inspired by a thought that hit me after work.

I hope it helps you keep your mental world in check!

The emotions that run through you in uncertain situations reveal your faith level and confidence that everything will work out for you.

It’s crucial to take a step back and observe the emotions that dominate your inner world. Your emotions shape how you feel and respond to different circumstances. But more importantly, your predominant emotion signals whether you are anchored in your core truths or if you’ve drifted away, distracted by external chaos.

In life, we all need an anchor; a solid foundation rooted in the truths we’ve learned from experience and conscious awareness. These truths remind us of who we are and what life has shown us to be undeniably real.

Faith, memory, and recognizing life’s patterns help us establish and maintain this foundation. And when we stay connected to it, we experience peace and clarity, no matter how turbulent life appears on the surface.

Each time we recall these core truths, we feel a deep sense of calm, joy, and stability; even when everything around us seems to be falling apart.

If you frequently experience joy, gratitude, and positivity, it’s a sign that you are aligned with your solid base. You are remembering, living, and experiencing the peace that comes from staying grounded in what you know to be true.

From this place of stability, even external challenges begin to shift, aligning with the strength of your foundation.

On the other hand, if you find yourself overwhelmed with anger, sadness, bitterness, or negativity, it’s likely that you’ve lost touch with your solid base. You’ve become too absorbed in external circumstances, forgetting the truths you’ve built upon over time.

If negativity has become default or predominant, it’s time to realign with your solid base. Here’s how:

  • Lean on trusted relationships – Surround yourself with people who remind you of your strength and values.
  • Seek professional help if needed – Therapy or counseling can provide guidance and tools to recenter yourself.
  • Deepen your spiritual practices – Engage in study, prayer, meditation, or any practice that connects you to your core beliefs.
  • Use sensory reminders – Listen to music, read, or engage in activities that reinforce your foundational truths.

No matter what method you choose, the key is to shift your attention away from what’s draining you and refocus on what brings you back to center.

Breaking free from the habit of letting unhelpful emotions rule you isn’t always easy, but it is possible. Even taking one small step toward reconnecting with your solid base can make a difference.

Let your predominant emotions serve as a gauge; a check-in to see how close or far you are from your center. Because everything good flows from being in alignment with your core truths.

Stay conscious.

Stay centered.

Keep winning!
